“In the Crowded world of wine, New Zealand is paradise for Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir” New Zealand’s best wine growing regions form the foundations of Crowded House. Fruit for this wine is sourced from a number of premium vineyards in Marlborough, prodominantly from alluvial river bed soils. We focus on capturing the fresh, zesty and classic Marlborough characters and flavours. Fruit is specifically selected to create a pectrum of flavours - from the lemon/lime right through to riper more tropical flavours. Fermentation is closely monitored and regulated to ensure cool, long slow ferments which help to retain the natural fruit flavours in the final wine. It is widely agreed that vintage 2010 is one of the best the Marlborough region has had in the last decade. A relatively cool summer helped to develop flavour intensity in balance with physiological ripeness. Harvest was generally 1-2 weeks later than past vintages, but our patience was rewarded in the high quality of the resulting wine.
