Description
Produced by Japan’s only independent cooperage this superb single cask shochu is distilled from home-grown rice and matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask. Cask No. 54 yielded just over 800 bottles.
Nose: Nutty, bready, vanilla, allspice, delicate sherry.
Palate: Oak, cherries, blackcurrant, a hint of citrus. Light and velvety mouthfeel, with the mellowness of brown rice.
Finish: Banana bread, cashew nuts, and a hint of tart raspberries. closes out with a nice orange zing.
