Australia’s second-highest awarded whisky.

Before the French Oak came into its own, Sullivans Cove American Oak was the Australian champion whisky. Twice named the Best Whisky in the Rest of the World and the first Australian whisky to achieve Liquid Gold status in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, it is fitting that the only whisky to surpass it would be from the same stable. Single cask, non-chill filtered and matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels.

TASTING NOTES

• Nose

  A lively, creamy, and vibrant opening. Waves of custard and cream lead the way, layered with custard tart, thyme, quince, and the soft sweetness of butternut pumpkin. Hints of jersey caramel and a bright lift of orange oil and citrus pops bring energy and freshness. The nose is rich yet playful, setting a welcoming and mouth-watering tone.

• Palate

  A wonderfully moreish mouthfeel - slippery yet chewy - with a full-bodied richness. Buttery biscuit crumb, strawberry cheesecake and cream cheese create a soft, velvety backdrop, while caramel éclair, vanilla wafer and kiwi fruit jelly add brightness and delight. Golden syrup dumpling, sweet brown sugar and juicy plums round out the palate with deep, luscious sweetness.

• Finish

  A refreshing wave of mint lifts the finish high before it settles into a sweet, indulgent descent. Hazelnut syrup, chunky chocolate cookie and hot chocolate build warmth and comfort, while toasted rye and raisins bring a satisfying, hearty depth. The balance of freshness and richness lingers beautifully.
