BASTARD SON APA

Wanting something a little bit hoppier than the quintessential Australian or English Pale Ale styles, but not wanting to have the full on hop-splosion of an India Pale Ale, we settled on trying to create a classic American-style pale ale that was balanced and sessionable.

We use a Burston Pale malt base (with a little bit of Crystal malt thrown in for good measure), to which we add Magnum, Perle and Cascade Hops. We round off the process with a final dry-hopping of Cascade hops, for a last little burst of bitterness.

BASTARD NOTES 

Appearance: Cloudy and golden with a crisp pale head.

Aroma: Malt driven and hugely citrusy, burnt orange with a hint of hops.

Taste: Clean and light, predominantly caramel/biscuit and citrus notes. Light but lingering hop-driven finish.
