Colour : Deep garnet red with violet hues
Notes : As tasted on the 22nd February, 2008. The growing season was very "kind" with no extreme weather events. This ensured a stress free enviroment and full flavour development for the low-cropping vines, aged between 60 to 100 years. Sourced from the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley regions.
The 2005 Old Block Shiraz is a wine of elegance, melding qualities from both the Barossa regions. The Barossa Valley provides the wine's substance and compelling texture, while the distinctive menthol floral aromas are indicative of the near perfect ripening conditions experienced in the Eden Valley. The wine's lingering palate is underscored by soft, seamless tannins. The subtlety and finesse of Old Block Shiraz ensures it will evolve beautifully over the years its longevity is a characteristic it has become renowned for.
