AN ELEGANT TRIBUTE
James Hennessy, a powerful man with refined tastes, greatly influenced social and political life in France at the beginning of the 20th century. He rubbed shoulders with political leaders, intellectuals and artists such as Winston Churchill, Lawrence of Arabia, Pablo Picasso and Claude Debussy. In 1920, James Hennessy had a “very private” cognac blended in honor of his illustrious friends.
INSPIRED BY ART DECO
He ordered the cellar master Alfred Fillioux to create a cognac that would be both well-structured and elegant, reflecting the Art Deco ideals. Almost a century later, Hennessy would revisit this tradition. Yann Fillioux, a descendant of Alfred Fillioux, would create Hennessy Privé, an elegant tribute to James Hennessy.
THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF BALANCE
Hennessy Privé is made up of some hundred eaux-de-vie that have been matured for periods varying from twelve to thirty years. They are selected for their suitability to become part of a perfectly harmonious blend. They are matured in new barrels, but the woody flavor never overpowers their delicate taste.
TASTING NOTES
This well-structured, elegant cognac is characterized as much by eaux-de-vie with a freshness reminiscent of mint as by indulgent notes of fruit jam and nutty praline.
A cognac intended for connoisseurs who will appreciate it served neat.
